A CHRISTMAS COUNT DOWN FOR OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

This year I made a small Christmas count down for Tony's brothers and sisters as well as my own. That should have been 8 but I'm seriously a blonde ..............
I made 10! I counted Tony and myself in the mix! lol
Oh well, ...... that will make a nice gift for some one else.

When Christmas comes, there is always someone that I forget and sure enough, the extra two came in handy!

SUGAR COOKIES ANYONE ?

Sugar cookies are the easiest felt food to make!
Pretty and fun to make and they look good enough to eat!
Yummy!

FELT DAGWOOD SANDWICH ~

I wanted to make a sandwich out of felt. 2 slices of bread and all the fixins!
I made a leaf of romaine lettuce, a couple of tomatoes and a slice of turkey!
Then I decided it needed some cheese!
My bread slices looked like the jumbo ones that are good for french toast! lol
Anyway, by the time it was put together it was definitely a "Dagwood"!
Good luck wrapping your mouth around this meal! lol

CHRISTMAS PILLOWS FOR 2010

This year I made all the kids ( all 12 of them) a family pillow! I saw the stitchery pattern in a quilting store and I loved it!

I got some pretty white fabric's (fat quarters) with a pattern on them and some backing. I used a embroidery hoop and started the stitching. After about 5 of them I decided to put together one pillow to see if I liked it. I DID!
I sewed the ruffle on the front of the pillow .........
Then with the right side of the fabric facing the ruffle and the right side of the pillow I stitched around the rectangle leaving about 6 inches open.

I then turned it inside out and used a thin dowel to push out the corners.
Then I stuffed them!
And Whala! A simple stitch but a beautiful message!

All 12 finished and ready to wrap! Merry Christmas kids!

MORE FELT FOOD!

I made another burger and fries and put them in the boxes that ya get from McDonald's!
The burger was too big for the box! Guess I made a Giant Whopper instead of a Quarter Pounder! haha
I also put the pizza I made in a Little Caesar's box but obviously I need to made a bigger pizza!!
Next on my list!

THE SANTA

REMEMBER .... a few posts ago I said I would post the Santa I made when I dug him out of all the Christmas decor! Well, whala! I got him out!
I made 13 of these little guys for the kids at Christmas about 4 years ago! We put $100 dollar bill in the stocking that Santa holds. It was a pretty cute gift if I do say so myself!
Santa's face up close and personal!

It's so nice to go to the kids homes and see him displayed!

RAG QUILT FOR ARIANA!

I'm flying down to Laredo Texas on the 8th of December to stay with Tristan while Chris and Princess are in the hospital for sweet little Ariana's arrival! I'm so excited!
I made her this little rag quilt! I've still got to attach the yo yo's but will do it tonight while watching the BSU game!!
It's a wee bit Christmasy. After all she will be born in December so I thought it should be.

Learning to quilt~

My two daughters each made a Crazy Eight's Quilt so I decided to try my hand at it! I love watermelons so made it in watermelon colors! It's a great pattern and since making this one have made 3 more and have a couple more in the works!
I also learned to make the rag quilts out of jeans and this paticular one out of patriotic fabric.

I've done 4 of this one as well as several out of flannel for the babies!

CHRISTMAS 2008

I am a very lucky woman! I was married for 19 years (which ended in divorce) but I had 5 wonderful children from the union. I was single for 13 years and then met the love of my life! He has 7 children so together we are blessed with 12 awesome children and each of them have a wonderful spouse. So far we have 24 grandchildren with one more to join our happy clan in December of this year.
I love to give and with the amount of kids we have, Christmas's have become a bit of a financial burden.

So I have started to make each family a gift. I started in 2005 (our 2nd Christmas together) and I made each family a Santa who was holding a sock. We put a $100 dollar bill in the sock for their Christmas gift. I didn't take pictures at the time so when I dig mine out I will post it. You'll have to wait for Christmas! lol

This is what I made them in 2008. An Advent Calendar!

Yes, I made 12 of them and it took me nearly a year to complete all 12 .... but I did it!
The kids loved them and it's such a joy to go into their homes at Christmas and see them using the calendar!
