I made the little girls
"FELT HAPPY MEALS" for Christmas! I saved buckets from Halloween (because they are cooler than the box and will last longer ...lol
Inside I put a Hamburger, fries, fruit and sugar cookies!
I also made them a
"PUMPKIN TURNOVER" and boxed it up!
YUMMY !!
I had made a boxed Happy Meal for one of my grandson's birthday and so I didn't want his sister to get the same thing so I made her a "SACK LUNCH" ................
Complete with a "Turkey Sandwich" a "banana" and a bag of "Potato Chips" ....
And of course the sandwich has all the fixens! .......
I think I'll add a cinnamon roll to this just to sweetin up the package! lol

OLD CHRISTMAS CARDS TO THIS !~
After learning to make the paper ornaments, I decided to make one out of old Christmas cards!
I went through my cards and found these, Since I always do cards with our picture on it, I never use these any more so they were the perfect choice!!
TA DA!~! I like them! There was a cute little squirrel on the back of each card so I made the topper with him!
You can't tell this was a Santa but I liked the shiny paper and the gloss it gave to the ornament.
Pretty cool I think!
Now, I need to hold my ornament exchange party and give them away! LOL

This week in Young Women's the Laurel's are having a Christmas Kickoff for their class activity!
I have asked all the girls to bring something fun from home that they don't want anymore! (a white elephant basically) I told them to wrap it up in the most appealing way they can and we are going to play an "exchange game" .............. I'm thinking it will be fun (but I've been wrong before!!)
I am also going to be teaching the Laurels how to make a paper Christmas ornament!
I tried several and have come to the conclusion that this one is the easiest and the BEST!! In my humble opinion!
The instructions I found online said to cut 6 strips of paper. I didn't like them. They are shown below ........... I added more strips and also cut a cute topper! I love these two!!
These (below) are the final Test Projects ....... I made the brown one and the light blue one 1st with the 6 strips!
SEE WHAT I MEAN! Not my favorite! Then I made 2 more with 10 strips and they are pretty good ....... BUT then I made the top left and put a topper on it and I love it!!
I cut out the poinsettia from an old Christmas card and mounted it on cardstock for some durability and to cover up the top of all the strips.
Really like this one so this is how the Laurels will be doing theirs.
This one with 10 strips isn't bad but a bout 3 more strips would have made it perfect! For it's topper I cut out 2 circle punches and glued them together and covered the top of the strips of paper! You can see the one in front doesn't have a topper and it doesn't look as finished!
The one below was made with circles from two different sizes of circle punches. I used green cardstock as a base and the colored pieces are from an old Christmas card.
I attached the two Christmas lights (which are cut with a punch) and it's OK but not my favorite either. I think the girls will enjoy making the round ornament the best.
LETS HOPE! lol

NEWEST ADDITION TO MY CRAFT ROOM!
I cleaned out the garage and found a nice stash of curling ribbon. Of course I knew it was there. I got it out everytime I had a project to do ....
However, now that my craft room is done , I thought to myself ...."It sure would be nice if this was mounted somehow so it would be easier to use .....
Well, all I have to do is ask and my dear husband is on it!! He was off today for Veterans Day so he put his mad skills to work and made me ribbon dispensers!!
I found 6 more spools so he said he could put up more rods!
What a man! I love this~! It will be so easy to use now and I can see what I've got without opening 6 different boxes!!
I'm so spoiled!

ROLLING PIN CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT !
I decided to make Christmas ornaments to put on top of the kid's Christmas gift this year!
I had a slew of little wooden rolling pins ...... I painted the body flesh, the bottom white as well as a little white on the body and the top
CHRISTMAS RED!
I then used bottled snow and put a ring of snow on the bottom of the red.
Add a nose with a red blush on the underside ..... after all it's cold in December and I'm sure Santa's nose is red~
Paint some eyes, add some whiskers and a ribbon and ....... ta da !!
I only had the one big pin but the smaller ones are cute too!
Other than the fact that I got his nose a litle skewampis! lol
He'll still look cute hanging from the branch of a tree!
Can't believe Christmas is 2 months away! Gotta get busy!

Paper Shoes for YW in Excellence
Our "Young Women In Excellence"
is coming up, November 2nd! Since I'm new at this and struggling for ideas .... I refer to the Internet ....... A LOT!!
I found the paper shoes (several in fact) on line and also a ward that had used them for
" Young Women in Excellence" so I incorporated it into ours. We have been discussing the Temple all year. We had our "Temple Trek" back in May and we walked the Green Belt to the church. (5 miles) We made several stops along the way and at each stop the leaders would tell the girls about their trek to the temple and how it occurred in their life. We then transported the girls to the temple and walked the grounds and took pictures of the girls at the temple. We then had an evening where the girls made frames for their picture and entitled it
"PICTURE ME AT THE TEMPLE"
Anyway, the whole night will tie into shoes and where they take you ......
HENCE, the paper SHOES!!
I made 40 shoes and used my "Cricut" to cut out flowers and made a little arrangement for the toe!
I then filled little bags with "Hershey Kisses" and tied curling ribbon on them and inserted them into the shoe! We will use them as a party favor for each girl. I will show the entire evening on my Personal Progress blog in November.
I think they turned out pretty cute! Hope the girls like them!
Where will your shoes take YOU??
Something to think about!!

NEW ADDITIONS .... NOW I'M DONE ! ...except for organizing !!
There was a 50% off sale on all the Jet Max and Recollection cubicles starting this past Sunday.
I was going to go on my lunch break to get the hanging files but I was there on Saturday to check out how many they had and they only had two.
Tony went into Boise early Monday morning to check on a job and so he stopped at" Michaels" and bought me the 4 I needed!
BLESS HIS HEART!!
When I got home Monday evening, we put them together ......together!! lolNow I have a JET MAX File Cabinet ...... I started transferring all my files from the big ole black metal file cabinet I used before. I'm getting really organized and taking my time filing the new one so I will have everything in order and will know where to go to look for it!
I also got a metal magnet board that holds tins for brads etc ..... I also had some magnetic photo frames that stick nicely ! It's so cool!
Now my room is a mess again until I get everything put back in it's rightful place!
BUT I WILL BE ORGANIZED!!
It was clean on Saturday when we had our Neighborhood Block Party and one of the neighbors asked what Tony had been making in the backyard? (They saw him outside cutting all the shelves and desk) I told them that he had built me a craft room and they asked to see it. (I was so glad it was clean) I showed them and the women were in awe!! One of them said we needed to put it on the DIY program (DO IT YOURSELF) She said it was magnificent!!
AND IT IS!!
THANKS TO MY AWESOME HUSBAND!!
HUGS AND KISSES HONEY!!

I GOT MY OTHER EMBELLISHMENT CENTER!
I was so excited this Labor Day because I got 50% off coupons in the newspaper as well as on line so I was going to go to Michaels and get the JET MAX file cabinets I've been wanting ....
Wouldn't ya know it, they were 40% off already so I couldn't use the 50% off coupon!! DANG!!
I asked if the Boise store had any embellishments centers and if so would they honor my rain check! They did and said they would so I drove to Boise and got it! Tony installed it for me Monday evening.I love it and have the jars filled already and have my room pretty much organized the way I want it. I just need the file cabinets now and I'll be done! It is sure great to have a big center with plenty of room to work! I LOVE IT!!

MY CRAFT ROOM !
My dear husband and I finished up my craft room this past Saturday. Basically, I helped haul shelves and the desk top to the saw to be cut and then upstairs and he did all the measuring, cutting, nailing, caulking etc .....
I couldn't be more pleased with the end results!!
This is the right side of the room .............
And this is the left side of the room minus the embellishment center that will be along side the window (same as the the right side) .......... as soon as it comes in. I had to get a rain check on the 2nd embellishment center as the store was out of stock! :( Today the hubs is going to drill 3 hole in the top op the desk on each of the 3 sides. He will then put in a gromit so my machine cords can go down through the top of the desk.
Directly behind me is a closet that has shelving built in it and a short wall that I will be purchasing file cubicles for.............. eventually!
The space is fantastic!! I have all kinds of storage as well as counter top to work!
I love it but more importantly, ........ I love my man who makes it all possible!
Maybe I'll do a video when I get all my crafts put away!

Wishes do come true!!
Update on my craft room ...... My dear sweet husband and I had a friend (who made our kitchen cabinets, bathrooms cabinets and entertainment center) come over and look at the room and take measurements for my craft room desk. Its a fairly small room and granted the desk will go around on 3 walls but it's not HUGE! Anyway, he took measurements and gave us some ideas of what he would do and then said he would go home, work up the figures and then call us in a couple of days.
In the meantime, my dear sweet husband and I went to Lowes and bought all the materials for the shelving that he is going to put in my room. $400 dollars just for shelving!! WOW! We started Monday night after I got home from work and my hubby put in 4 long shelves in the empty closet. So now with the top shelf that was already there plus the storage space on the floor under the bottom shelf ...... I have a HUGE amount of storage space just in the closet itself.
NOW, he is going to put up shelves on the two long walls. 3 on each side. AWESOME!!
Then yesterday while I was at work, hubby called me and said our friend had just called with the "QUOTE" on the desk! GET THIS ..... $1100 BUCKS !! Just for the desk! He does a fabulous job but really ..... for my craft room ..... I don't think so!!
We both agreed that was Waaaayyy too much moola!! So I thought about what I wanted and together hubby and I came up with a solution!
I have 5 of the Jetmax cubicles. I always wait till I have a coupon or they go on sale and then I buy one or two. This is not my room but just some ideas of what we are going to do with my room.
I will purchase 7 more cubicles as they go on sale. Hubby will put a support piece of wood on the wall for the back of the desk and we will use the cubicles (2 deep) for support in the front.
He is going to purchase the top of the desk from Lowes and it will cost $75.00 dollars. After I get the cubicles (on sale of course) we will finish it up!
It will be similar to these three pictures but BETTER! I can't wait to post my own pictures!
AND THE BEST THING IS THAT IT WILL COST US AROUND $800.00 TOTAL! Sure beats $1100.00 that we would have paid JUST FOR THE DESK TOP!!!
I LOVE MY MAN!!!
