I'M SO PROUD OF MY LITTLE GIRL !!

Heather called me tonight and told me that my little ole quilt went for $70 dollars!~ Today was the last day of bidding and she raised a total of $355 dollars for the Japanese people. It may not seem like a lot of money considering the devastation that Japan incurred but it's $355 straight from the heart and I am so proud of her efforts!!
She sold 4 that she had made and mine and one from my friend Tammy!
Thank you Tammy for your generous donation and THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO BID ON THE QUILTS AND MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR HEATHER TO RAISE THIS MONEY!

God Bless everyone!!

COCONUT MACAROON'S & PARCHMENT !!

I love coconut macaroons! I've made them before but always hated the way they stick to the baking sheet! I even used tin foil but it stuck to that as well! So I quit making them.

Then I discovered parchment paper! I know, I know..... it's been around forever I suppose BUT I just discovered it!! I love it! The macaroons come off sooooooo easy!!

I made some for my mother in law for her birthday. I took some to my grandson's birthday
AND ......................................................................................

I have a couple of girls in Young Women, whose birthday we'll celebrate Sunday so I bought these cute little Birthday tins for $1.00. Put a cute cupcake paper inside and a ..............

My Personal Progress Quilt ~

I decided that my project for the Divine Nature value was going be a lap quilt. A type I hadn't made before. So I bought a jelly roll and cut it into strips. I then sewed 5 strips in each block .......
And then I laid the blocks out with the strips going in different directions till I achieved the design I wanted.
I sewed all my blocks together and then put an edge around the entire quilt . Then I went to the store and purchased material for the back and the binding ....... (without bringing the quilt ....dumb!)

I bought a poka dot material that I thought had the colors of the strips in it. ........ not really!

It didn't look all that good but I decided it was going to have to work. After all, I'd already bought the material!!

I then laid out the top, center and back and pinned it together really well and started machine quilting.

Once I was done quilting, I cut the sides to even out my quilt.
I then sewed on the homemade binding and sat up till 12:30 last night hand sewing the binding on the back side of the quilt!

Whala !! All done. I like it BUT ...............
The back is pretty wild and doesn't really go with the front ......UNLESS ....

I name it my waves and bubbles quilt!! lol

UPDATE: I donated this quilt to my daughter's auction to raise money to donate to the Humanitarian Service for the Japanese Earthquake/Tusami diaster. It went for $70 dollars so I was pretty pleased!

She raised $345 dollars total! I was pretty proud of her!! Anyway, I felt like I made my quilt for a good cause (ie: to earn a value in my personal progress) and then to be able to donate it for such a good cause was an extra bonus! WIN, WIN !!
